Jason Samia's Biography
Before becoming a REALTOR, I was a computer engineer at Sun Microsystems Inc in Northern California. I was offered the position right before I graduated from Cal Poly Pomona in Summer 2000. I lived in the Bay Area for 5 years. I learned valuable traits, knowledge, and experience working for a big corporation. I finally decided to switch career because I had a chance to discover myself. I learned that I enjoy interacting with people more than with computers. Working at Sun taught me a great deal technology, professionalism, ethics, and business concepts. I have some advantage over many of the real estate agents because of this. With my extensive experience in IT, I feel that I am be able to serve my clients with better tools and even greater personality.
I believe choosing the right real estate agent is a very important task when it comes to making decisions in real estate. Many clients do not get a chance to know their agents very well until it's too late. I hope my bio will provide you a better sense of the type of person I am.
I have been a Realtor with Keller Williams Realty since 2006, specilizing in Lakewood, Signal Hill and Long Beach homes for sale. I will service a buyer who is looking to buy from Santa Monica to the Irvine area and as far north as the 10fwy along Pasadena and as far east as Pomona.
Education
I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in California State University of Pomona (aka Cal Poly Pomona) in June 2000, majoring in Computer Information Systems. While employed at Sun, I had on going training and education in technology, general business, and work ethics. I passed several industry recognized certifications as part of my credentials.
I believe education is very important. As a Realtor, I am required to take courses on a regular basis. But I am not going to stop there. I plan to take as much classes as possible to provide my clients a better overall service. I am getting my broker's license in the near future and my MBA at the same time.
Values
I enjoy spending time with family and friends. I treasure the relationship I have with them. Nothing matters if I don't have them to share it with. My family is the main reason why I moved back to Southern California.
I don't make promises I don't intend to keep. Not fulfulling a promise is like lying. And I consider myself an honest person. It is very difficult for me to trust someone once they have lied or deceived me. I aspire to have an image of honesty and integrity from my clients.
I appreciate and respect all the different cultures we have here in California and in the world. My parents raised their kids well. They taught me how to be civilized, polite, and have good manners. I do not differentiate people of different race, ethnicity, age, or sexual orrientation with respect. What is important to me and what really counts is each person's character.
Traits
I am very resourceful, efficient, and reliable. I'm flexible and adaptive to change. I've been told that I am a great listener and very considerate. I'm very goal orriented. I like to be creative sometimes, depending on the situation, and try doing things differently.
I strongly believe I have what it takes to meet if not exceed my clients' expectations.
History
I was born in the Philippines and came here in the United States in 1990 when I was thirteen years of age. I went to a local private elementary school in Long Beach at St Barnabas. I attended high school at Jordan where I graduated in 1995. I spent two years at a community college in Long Beach City before transferring to Cal Poly Pomona in 1997.
I speak fluent English and Tagalog. I know a little Spanish and would love to learn more.
Interests, Hobbies, and Extra Curriculum Activities
I am a very active individual. I try to be anyway. I am always exploring and looking for something adventurous to do. In summer of 2005, I've backpacked through Europe for 3 months on my own, visiting over 40 cities in 15 countries. I ran the whole 26.2 miles during the Long Beach Marathon in 2004, and participated in a few triathlon events, including LA Triathlon and the Wildflower Half Ironman. I try to stay healthy by going to the gym, playing basketball, football, volleyball, and tennis with friends at the local park. I enjoy a long bike ride, a run by the beach or on the trail, or swim in a lake. For the past couple of years I've been learning how to surf and snowboard. I have yet to join my friends hike 13,000+ ft high mountains or go sky dive.
I think life is way too short. I want to experience as much as what life has to offer.
